Samantha Wolf
Fatum Novis
Bones, fossils, and dried plant matter are used in a process called electroforming - similar to copper plating. Most bones are from found creatures that would otherwise have been passed by and looked over. The bones are mindfully cleaned and carefully crafted into a new form, meant to celebrate the life that once moved them. Fatum Novis means "strange fate" in Latin, a contemplation on the decay our own bodies, the release that comes with self renewal, and the Great Unknown that we all must face.
